My first go using the mat and I thought I’d document it to show you it doesn’t need lots of practice to master!
“The Mat” is made by Streetwise and eliminates the need for cornflour. It is completely non-stick and food-safe and makes covering a cake with sugarpaste much more simple reducing the risk of tearing the paste and getting rid of the messiness of cornflour and icing sugar.

Hi Lisa. I’ve not experienced this myself. Have you tried re-seasoning the mat using Trex? It might be an idea to contact Sweetwise directly and see what they suggest if this doesn’t work… Good luck, I hope it gets better, let me know! Billie

Hi, I wondered if you had experienced any problems with your ‘Mat’. I got excellent results with the first use but thereafter it was a disaster with the icing sticking to the mat and eventually coming away pock marked and torn. I can only get half decent results now by liberally dusting the mat with icing sugar which really defeats the object.
